Huawei Mobiles has officially launched its mobile operating system Harmony OS gets official today August 9, 2019, in China at the Huawei Developer Conference.
In the past few months, the Chinese smartphone giant had troubles with the US over the security concerns and clouds were looming over the future of Huawei as several companies have cancelled their alliance with Huawei. But everything happens for good, and it's a piece of good news for Huawei, as you can say that Google has brought up its competitor. So, it's Samsung Tizen OS and Huawei Harmony OS are the Google Android alternatives.

It's the first time that we have heard about Huawei's in-house operating system for mobile and tablets. The Huawei Harmony OS is developed by Fuchsia OS, a proprietary company of Huawei. It will be one name for many devices like smartphones, tablet PCs, wearables, in-car OS, and Smart TVs.

Huawei has finally unveiled version update 2.0 available for Smart TVs, and wearables at Huawei Developer Conference 2020 in China.
Currently, the HarmonyOS 2.0 developer beta (for mobile devices) is under testing and the following devices are eligible -

Not exactly because Google will have to develop that and submit it to the AppGallery store (Play Store for Harmony OS phones) and the Mountain View company will not be doing that. Seen as Huawei's B plan, Harmony OS was expected to replace Android as an alternative OS for mobiles, but that isn't the case because this new HongMeng OS is based on Android.
Is Harmony OS better than iOS?
iOS is a well-established, fully tested OS for mobile, while the Harmony OS is just got of the beta updates. Still, the Harmony OS is in development and many features are still missing on it. So clearly iOS is the winner here.
